Are You Ready to Free Fall?

Mit ihrer neuen Single „Ego“ appelliert die Schweizer Künstlerin Ay Wing an nichts weniger als die Auflösung des eigenen Egos. In einer Zeit, die von Oberflächlichkeiten, Individualismus, Leistungs- und Konkurrenzdenken geprägt ist, ermutigt die audiovisuelle Künstlerin dazu, die eigenen Befindlichkeiten zu überwinden und sich gegen das eigene Ego zu behaupten. Selbst wenn das bedeutet, die eigene Verwundbarkeit zu riskieren. Der euphorisierende Chorus wird zur kraftvollen (Selbst-)Affirmation: ‚I’m ready to free fall (…) Let go of my ego‘ / ‚Ich bin bereit für den freien Fall (…) Bereit mein Ego loszulassen‘. 



Als kraftvolle Hymne aus charakteristischen Synths, einem Hip Hop House Beat und AyWings ehrlich-feinfühliger Stimme adressiert „Ego“ den Teil unserer Identität, der oftmals an oberflächlichen Werten festhält. Doch Ay Wing’s gute Nachricht ist: Unser Ego ist zur Wiedergeburt fähig - auch wenn der Prozess schmerzhaft sein mag: ‚Where is sadness/ Where is anger / Why can’t I surrender’ / ‚Wo Traurigkeit ist / Wo Wut ist / Warum kann ich mich nicht hingeben‘.



Indem wir einen Schritt zurücktreten, uns selbst als Teil des großen Ganzen verstehen und erleben, fühlen wir echte Verbundenheit - mit uns selbst und mit anderen.

„Ego” ist der dritte Track aus Ay Wings „Cycle”-Reihe – einer Sammlung von vier Songs, die Weiblichkeit und den weiblichen Zyklus zelebrieren. Sie ruft auf, mutig einzustehen für mehr Weichheit, Weiblichkeit und Solidarität in der Gesellschaft.
